Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Does anyone else miss being able to go out to eat during quarantine? Missing the way your favorite restaurants made their food. For me, breakfast always tastes better when I eat out.

A place that I enjoyed going to was a local smoothie bowl and juice company called Blended. They used organic ingredients without any added sugars. Due to missing their gigantic smoothie bowls, I decided to make them at home for my family and I.

Starting the day off with a smoothie is a great way to incorporate fruit and veggies early. Eating healthy, whole foods can have a domino effect, meaning it can lead a person to eating clean throughout the day. You can put whatever fruit and veggies you want into your smoothie. Below is what I have been using and it has been a family hit! The amount of fruit depends on how many people I am making breakfast for. Again, I eyeball the amount. Who has time to be uptight about that, right?

Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Frozen Strawberries

Frozen Blueberries

Frozen Cherries

1 Banana

Handful of Spinach

½ Cup Almond Milk

1 Tbsp Chia Seeds

3 Tbs Plain Greek Yogurt *Optional*

Now comes the fun part!! Making it look like it’s from a restaurant.

  1. Drizzle honey at the bottom of the bowl

  2. Pour a little bit of granola onto the honey so it stays in place

  3. Pour the smoothie into the bowl

  4. Make a line with more granola

  5. Make another line with more chia seeds

  6. Add in your favorite fruit on top

  7. Drizzle on more honey, if desired
