8 Quick & Easy Breakfasts

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

When we are on-the-go (and not in quarantine) a lot of people skip breakfast because they feel like they don’t have time for it. Whether in quarantine or not, sometimes we still don’t feel like making big meals. We are humans, we like everything quick and easy. Rather than skipping the most important meal of the day, try eating a nutritious and quick breakfast. Breakfast is a very important meal of the day. And if you think differently… sorry, you’re so wrong.

If you have read my other posts you would have seen that I repeat myself about health and wellness being a domino effect. It all starts with a decision.

Think of it this way, you eat a donut for breakfast causing your blood sugar levels to rise and feeling lethargic in the morning. Since you had the donut, you are probably going to eat a Clif bar for a snack thinking that’s a granola bar so it’s “healthy”. Sorry to be the one to tell you but a Clif bar has just as much sugar as eating a snickers bar. You might as well eat the snickers bar for a snack. Once lunch rolls around you are more likely going to want the day-old pizza in the fridge and possibly leftover garlic knots. If you see where I’m going with this you can assume your afternoon snack and then dinner won’t be any better than everything else you have consumed throughout the day.

Now, if you would have started the day off on the right foot with a more nutritious breakfast your day may go something like this: Oatmeal with fruit for breakfast causing you to feel fuller longer, have more energy and want to have a great and accomplished day. For a snack, you rather have an apple, lunch is a beautiful salad, and like before, you choose healthier options throughout the day. Making that one decision at breakfast is setting you up for success or failure for the day. Who wants to purposely set themselves up to fail?

Still don’t believe how important breakfast is? Okay, here are the scientifically proven facts:

  • Improves memory

  • Helps  maintain healthy body weight

  • Helps you avoid snacking throughout the day… which leads to weight gain. I’m talking about the snacking where you grab a bag of cheetos or goldfish and finish the bag in one sitting.

  • Builds better bodies: improves heart health and metabolism, bone density, better digestion, etc.

Below are 8 quick and easy breakfast options that are nutritious and delicious.

1. Avocado toast

2. Banana and peanut butter toast

  • Toast a piece of bread

  • Spread peanut butter on it

  • Cut up the banana and place it on the peanut butter toast.

  • Add blueberries on top. Trust me, it’s life-changing.

  • Add honey if desired.

3. Oatmeal

  • Use water or almond milk when cooking

  • Helps you avoid snacking throughout the day… which leads to weight gain. I’m talking about the snacking where you grab a bag of Cheetos or goldfish and finish the bag in one sitting.

4. Chia seed pudding

This needs to be made the night before. You can’t get faster than this breakfast option because all you have to do in the morning is grab it out of the fridge and eat. Click Here for the recipe!

Again, this is made overnight. It makes mornings less stressful.

6. Smoothie

Please, tell me how it goes!
